Rugby star Joe Simpson tackles a new challenge at Walker Crips

Walker Crips Investment Management has announced the appointment of Joe Simpson as a Business Development Associate. With an impressive background as a former professional Rugby Union player and extensive experience in building relationships in high-pressure environments, Joe brings a unique skill set to the role.

Joe's professional rugby career spanned over a decade, during which he represented England at the highest level, showcasing his exceptional talent on the field. With a notable career that includes playing for high-profile teams such as Wasps, Gloucester, Saracens, Bath and Sale Sharks, Joe solidified his position as a senior leader within each club.

Throughout his rugby career, Joe demonstrated outstanding leadership and communication skills. He liaised with CEOs, club owners, sponsors and the media to build relationships, represent his teams and navigate challenges both on and off the field. His ability to thrive in demanding environments is a testament to his resilience and adaptability.

Notably, Joe has achieved international honours as a member of the England 7's and the England A team. He also represented England Rugby in the 2011 World Cup held in New Zealand, further showcasing his exceptional talent on a global stage. Joe's accomplishments have been recognised and celebrated, with awards including Academy Player of the Year (2006-2007), Young Player of the Year (2009-2010) and Supporters' and Players' Player of the Year (2010-2011) during his time at Wasps.

Away from sport, Joe also pursued academic interests, studying Management at the London School of Economics. He has also obtained a Diploma in Management from the Open University. Additionally, Joe has run his own business, specialising in property renovation, showcasing his entrepreneurial spirit.
