Christopher Bolshaw
Investment Manager

Chris is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment and a Chartered Wealth Manager, with over 30 years’ experience as an investment manager. Throughout this time he has looked after the interests of his wide range of clients, managing portfolios for individuals and their families, trusts and local charities. He also works closely with local solicitors, accountants and other professionals. Having formerly served with the Royal Air Force for eight years, flying Phantoms and Nimrods, Chris channelled the background of his Economics degree from Manchester University and his enthusiasm for the markets into his principal career. Cementing his commitment to Cornwall he went on to co-found and run an independent stockbroking firm for ten years, then joining a national firm in 2008, managing their Truro office for the next six years, before moving to Walker Crips in 2015.

Simon Burnett
Investment Manager

Simon began his career in the City of London in 1999 working on the equities trading floor at Goldman Sachs. Simon went on to work on the open outcry trading floor in Amsterdam before returning to London as a Senior Equity Dealer at State Street Global Advisors. In his final few years in the City, Simon worked as a Director at the international equities broker ITG, before relocating to Cornwall in 2011 with his family. Simon is now responsible for managing portfolios for private clients, charities and trusts and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments. He holds a degree in Economics and a Masters in International Securities, Investment and Banking.

Matthew Dickinson
Investment Manager

After graduating from Oxford Brookes University, Matt initially gained managerial experience before embarking on a career in the financial industry in 2002. He quickly advanced to become a risk assessor for the financial arm of a US multinational before securing a place at a local firm of advisory stockbrokers. Matt went on to join the Truro branch of Charles Stanley in 2012 before moving to Walker Crips with the rest of the team in 2015. Matt specialises in constructing and managing portfolios for private clients and their families, companies and trusts. He is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments and a qualified Chartered Wealth Manager.

Jonathan Rowland
Branch Operations Manager

Jonathan is a Chartered Member of the Institute for Securities and Investment. Having spent twelve years working in accountancy practice, he decided to have a change of direction into the investment industry, joining Chris when he and his then business partner, Jeremy Sharp started their independent firm of Truro Stockbrokers in 1998. He has been a member of the team ever since, dealing with compliance matters, looking after the back office, IT, official reporting, execution only dealing, and general operational functions.

Rebecca Gouldstone
Trust and Probate Executive

Rebecca completed a degree in Psychology, then spent a period of time in London, before returning to Cornwall in 2005 to join the stockbroking team in Truro. Rebecca provides an efficient estate administration service encompassing the provision of probate valuations and the sale or transfer of investments once Probate has been granted. Having been part of the team for over fifteen years she has formed strong relationships with local solicitors, accountants and financial advisers. She has also passed the Level 4 Investment Advice Diploma and assists the investment managers with day to day portfolio administration.

Merlin MS Centre

Walker Crips were proud sponsors of a fun run in July 2018 to raise funds for the Merlin MS Centre near St Austell. Setting off from the front of the Trelissick House, the run took competitors around the beautiful gardens with fantastic views of the stunning River Fal. The Merlin MS Centre provides therapies for those whose lives are affected by Multiple Sclerosis, as well as other neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s, Stroke, ME Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
